Mural in 'Urban Art Garden', San Francisco. This is a new mural alley/project which has had some problems. There are 14 murals inside these arches some of which have been tagged all to hell. Rightfully so, as this was a 'tag alley' before a friend decieded to launch the mural project (money/permission/permits involved). The way I see it, the artists get one half of the alley and the taggers get the other side. So to the driver or pedestrian (our audiences) you get both worlds, which I think is is cool. Hence the name.

Anyhow- my piece. The shape was done in Asphalt Roof Coating which is what roofers use to coat your roof. It is thick and gnarly and smells worse than the hot fudge it resembles. But it dripped and that's what I was looking for- a very dark cloud. This was painted on the three year anniversary of the Iraq invasion so I wanted to reflect that. Thank you Angela 'Lala' Willets for letting me do my piece here and let's hope that it can continue to be a place where mural art and grafitti can coexist.
